Woman Assaulted While Walking With Baby in Wareham

A woman was assaulted Sunday morning while walking with her baby in Wareham.

According to police, the woman was walking on 11th Street near Waban Avenue at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday when she was assaulted. She told police that she observed a man on East Boulevard and then a few moments later the man came up behind her and physically assaulted her before running off.

The woman took a photo of the suspect as he fled on 11th Street.

Officers canvased the area but did not find the suspect.

The man is described as being in his late teens or early 20s. He is believed to be 5’10” to 6′ tall and 200 pounds. He has short reddish-brown hair and was wearing a short sleeve blue athletic shirt, long black athletic pants and sneakers with a distinctive white bottom with a wide black stripe across the sole, police said.

The woman was not injured.
