Explosion, Gas-Fed Fire in Mattapan Building Laundry Room Displaces Residents

An explosion and fire in a residential building in Mattapan on Saturday will displace all 40 of the building’s units, according to the Boston Fire Department.

Authorities responded to the incident at 110 Livermore Street early Saturday afternoon, where they found a gas-fed fire in the laundry room.

No injuries were reported.

 

The Red Cross, Neighborhood Services, and Boston Fire Department’s Victim Assistance Unit will help those who were displaced find housing.

The cause of the explosion and fire is currently unclear.
