Democratic presidential hopeful Cory Booker will stop in Boston Friday afternoon, outlining how he plans to prevent gun violence if elected.

The New Jersey senator’s visit to Boston comes after 17 shootings in five days.

Most of the people involved in the recent string of violence are between the ages of 25 and 35, Police Commissioner William Gross said.

At Booker’s event, he plans to discuss how he will call for federal gun licensing, according to his campaign.
